Your counter
Plan the whole kettle space
A kettle needs room to stand, open, fill and pour. The body's listed width and height are only the beginning of the counter plan.
Include the powered base
Read the dimensions with their stated basis. A jug-only measurement is not necessarily the footprint of the complete supplied base. Allow room for controls and for the cord to follow the instructed route without pulling the base out of position.
A rotating or lift-off arrangement can help with access, but it does not replace a stable suitable surface. Check the maker's placement directions and keep the working space appropriate for hot water and steam.
Imagine opening and filling it
A low cabinet can interfere with lifting a lid or removing the jug. A hinged lid needs its opening space; a removable lid needs a place to go. Consider whether you will carry the jug to the tap or fill it where it stands, using the method the instructions permit.
Do not choose from closed-body height alone. The access needed for filling and care can be more important than a small difference in the published height.
Plan the steam path
Follow the model's placement instructions around walls, cabinets and other items. The lid and spout are part of a hot-water appliance, not simply decorative projections in the product photograph.
Keep ordinary handling in mind. You should be able to reach the intended handle and controls without leaning across the pouring path. A convenient position is one that suits the complete routine, rather than the last empty space beside another appliance.
Make the pouring destination practical
Think about the cup, teapot or brewer beside the kettle. A gooseneck pouring routine may happen on a coffee station with a scale and dripper; general pouring may happen next to several cups. Leave room for those objects as well as the kettle.
Filled water adds weight and changes the handling task. We can explain documented construction and capacity, but a photograph cannot establish how comfortable you personally find a handle. If handling is important, compare the real object when possible.
Leave room for care and storage
A filter, lid or infuser may need to be removed, rinsed and dried according to its instructions. Allow room for that task without treating every removable part as dishwasher-safe. Keep the base and electrical connections within the maker's care rules.
Use the review's dimensions and access notes to compare your shortlist, then check the exact supplied instructions before choosing the final location. A kettle that fits physically should also fit the way you fill it, see its controls and serve the next drink.
