Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can I brew a liter of loose-leaf tea without a separate teapot?
Yes. This 1.2 L infuser package supports a 0.5–1.2 L fill and a boil-then-insert-infuser sequence. You manage steeping time yourself.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the infuser make this a selectable-temperature kettle?
No. The basket is a brewing accessory; the documented control still boils water and switches off.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I remove the lid and see the fill marks?
Yes. The lid lifts off and the guide identifies water-level markings on the glass body.

The RJ11-12-TI suits someone who wants to heat water and steep loose-leaf tea in one jug, without working through temperature presets. Its 1.2-liter maximum sits between a small one-liter infuser kettle and a larger 1.8-liter model. The tea basket attaches below a completely removable lid.
The key distinction is that an infuser does not make the kettle temperature adjustable. This model uses a single boiling switch and turns off after the water boils. You decide when to insert the leaves and when to remove them. There is no automatic keep-warm routine to maintain a selected brewing target.
Understand the boil-then-steep sequence
Chefman’s guide has you remove the infuser, fill with water and heat with just the lid in place. Prepare the leaves in the basket while the water heats. After the water boils and the blue lights go out, carefully attach the filled infuser beneath the lid and lower it into the kettle.
This order is useful to understand before purchase. The kettle does not automatically lower a basket at a chosen temperature or remove leaves at the end of a timer. You remain responsible for the steep, following your tea’s instructions and your own preferences. Removing the hot lid and basket also requires care around steam.
Check the 500 ml minimum before choosing a compact kettle
The supported fill range is 0.5–1.2 L. That gives enough nominal room for a liter, but a tiny single-cup heating amount may be below the minimum. A requirement to heat just 250 ml or 300 ml therefore points toward a different documented fill range, not toward ignoring this one.
Measure the quantity you actually prepare. Two people using large mugs may need a different amount from two people using small teacups. The 1.2 L maximum is a useful boundary, while a generic number of servings is less informative. Follow the marks with the infuser used as directed and never compensate for a larger batch by overfilling.
What you can see during heating
The glass body has water-level markings, and blue lights indicate heating. At the end of the boil the kettle powers off. Those visible cues help with filling and cycle status, but they do not show the water’s actual numeric temperature.
If your normal tea routine depends on pressing an 80 °C setting, choose a model with that actual control. Cooling boiled water separately is a different routine. The presence of a tea basket should not disguise the absence of selected-temperature heating or holding.
A basket and a spout filter are different parts
The removable infuser holds tea for steeping. The spout also has a filter, which the guide says to clean in place rather than remove. Knowing which part is which avoids treating a small limescale filter as the main tea accessory.
The kettle can provide plain hot water by leaving out the tea and basket. That is useful when the same appliance serves different drinks. Rinse after tea before the next plain-water use, and take leaf handling into account if you value a very minimal cleanup routine.
Care is specific to this infuser package
The guide says the removable tea infuser is dishwasher safe. That permission does not extend to the powered kettle or base: neither should be immersed or washed in a dishwasher. Hand wash the lid as directed, allow everything to cool first, and keep electrical connections dry.
Tea residue and mineral deposits are separate cleaning jobs. Rinse between brews and follow this exact guide’s descaling directions as needed. Do not transfer a care instruction from another Chefman infuser merely because its basket looks similar; some related models have different washing restrictions.
Choose the useful size and routine
Shortlist the RJ11-12-TI when a 0.5–1.2 L boil-then-steep routine suits you and you want the basket included. The plain RJ11-12 is a different package for hot-water use. A larger infuser model suits a larger batch, while an adjustable model is the right comparison when the water endpoint or automatic holding matters more than simplicity.
