A useful fit for

Shoppers who prioritize a larger boil-only batch and the manufacturer’s specific water-contact material description.

The main tradeoff

Fill markings are inside, and this reference does not establish an exact numerical minimum, active warming or selectable lower temperatures.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can this kettle boil a 1.5-liter batch?

The manufacturer specifies a 1.7-liter maximum, so a 1.5-liter batch is within its stated capacity. Stay within the actual fill marks.

Is there a window for reading the level without opening it?

No. The maker specifies internal markings and the product has an opaque metal body. Choose another design for an outside window.

Does the metal filter also serve as a tea infuser?

No. The pictured perforated filter is part of the water path, not a basket for loose leaves. Prepare tea separately.

A larger boiling kettle with a specific material claim

The COSORI 1.7 L Stainless Steel Electric Kettle SE152 is worth considering when your main job is boiling a larger batch and you care about the materials around the water. COSORI specifically describes a 304 stainless steel interior, spout, inner lid and filter. That is a more useful statement than simply seeing a silver exterior. Its controls and opaque body are otherwise straightforward: a general pouring spout, internal fill marks and an automatic boil cycle rather than a temperature menu.

Read “plastic-free” in the scope the maker gives it

The manufacturer's detail image says no plastic contacts water and identifies the spout, inner lid and filter individually. This is the water-contact claim for the SE152 reference, rather than a claim that the handle, exterior trim or entire appliance contains no plastic. Nor is a material description a certification that every outside surface is safe to touch after boiling. Use the handle and follow the instructions supplied with the actual appliance.

The perforated metal section near the spout is a filter in the water path. It is not a tea basket. Choose a separate teapot or cup infuser for loose leaves instead of treating a metallic interior as permission to put any drink ingredient in the kettle. If an included infuser is essential to your routine, look for a model that explicitly supplies and supports one.

Capacity favors a shared round

The maker specifies a 1.7-liter maximum, which is useful for filling a teapot or preparing several drinks without repeated small refills. Compare the volume you actually use: a 1.5-liter batch fits below that stated maximum, while the compact 0.8-liter gooseneck format serves a different task. The larger jug is not automatically better for one small cup, particularly when the normal minimum volume has not been established numerically in the source reviewed here.

COSORI describes heating 0.5 liters in a timed marketing example. That example is not a minimum-fill specification and is not our measured boil time. Follow the MIN and MAX marks and the supplied instructions for the actual appliance. Do not substitute the example quantity for a normal-use limit or assume that the kettle permits a much smaller amount because it has automatic protective functions.

Internal markings instead of a window

The opaque body uses internal level markings, so filling involves looking through the top. That can appeal to someone who prefers a metal water chamber without an external transparent strip. It is less convenient if you want to check the remaining water at a glance while the lid stays closed. A glass kettle or a model with a clearly visible outside window solves that different problem.

The manufacturer's gallery shows a conventional spout and a handle-side boil switch. There is no documented lower-temperature selection or live numerical temperature display in this reference. A blue indicator turns off after boiling completes. That makes the SE152 a coherent choice for simple boiling, but it should not be matched to a request for a selected 80°C preparation merely because a kettle's water passes through that temperature on the way up.

Do not confuse heat retention with active holding

COSORI compares the construction's heat retention with one of its glass kettles. That relative marketing claim does not establish an active warming program, a documented hold duration or an insulated double-wall construction. The observed operating control is an automatic-boil switch. If you want a second cup kept at a chosen temperature, compare a kettle with an explicit Keep Warm function and a supported duration.

Likewise, the stainless finish does not make this a gooseneck. Choose it for normal serving into a teapot or mug, rather than assuming the same narrow-stream control as a pour-over kettle. Neither pouring speed, temperature accuracy nor long-term durability has been physically tested for this review.

Check the exact offer before buying

The manufacturer's US store names the SE152 and its shop code KAAPEKCSNUS0026Y. A longer code appears in the original image asset name, but a filename alone is not a verified rating label, so this review keeps the established SE152 designation. Confirm the actual electrical rating and supplied instructions on the offered package rather than borrowing wattage, minimum fill or dimensions from another COSORI kettle. Choose this reference for a larger straightforward boil and the specific material description; choose an adjustable model if the temperature after boiling is the decision that matters most.
