Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can it heat a small 200 mL pour-over batch?
The original US instructions require at least 118 mL and permit up to 0.8 liters, so 200 mL falls within that documented fill range.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I keep my coffee water ready for an hour?
The manual documents an app-adjustable 5–60-minute Hold Temp duration. Confirm 60 minutes in VeSync rather than assuming the default from the FAQ.
Explore this need in the finder →Can it heat a full liter for everyone?
No. Its maximum is 0.8 liters; choose a larger kettle when a single 1-liter batch is required.
Explore this need in the finder →A small gooseneck with optional connected controls
The COSORI CS108-NK suits a coffee or tea routine built around a controlled pour and a relatively small batch. Its 0.8-liter capacity, gooseneck spout and removable lid make it a different tool from a large household serving kettle. Physical buttons handle the standard temperature choices, while VeSync adds a custom MyBrew setting, scheduling and hold-time adjustment. Choose it when those connected functions solve a real daily need, rather than assuming that an app automatically improves every cup.
What works at the base
The original US controls identify 180°F Green, 195°F Oolong, 205°F Coffee and 212°F Boil Black. A MyBrew button has a 140°F default, which can be changed through VeSync. A preset button starts heating, and Hold Temp is available as a separate choice. This means the ordinary named settings do not require you to use a phone each time; customizing MyBrew does involve the app.
The maker gives a broader temperature range of 104–212°F, or 40–100°C, for the kettle, but the reviewed instructions do not identify the custom setting's adjustment increment. We do not treat that range as proof that every intermediate Celsius target can be selected. The physical panel has illuminated buttons rather than a numerical live-temperature display. VeSync is described as monitoring boiling progress, but that wording alone does not establish every temperature-display feature or unit option in the current app.
Read the hold duration on your actual setup
The original US manual describes a 30-minute default Hold Temp period and says the duration can be changed from 5 to 60 minutes through VeSync. COSORI's current product FAQ instead describes a 60-minute hold. The useful common fact is that up to 60 minutes is documented, with the app controlling the duration. Do not assume the exact default on an older kettle or app setup: check it before relying on an hour-long window.
The instructions also describe an Always Hold Temp option and a setting to resume holding after the kettle returns to its base. Without assuming those options are enabled, lifting the jug for more than 60 seconds can end its heating state. Set up the behavior you actually want, especially if you carry the kettle to a brewer across the room. The powered base still supplies all heating; the lift-off design is not battery operation.
A genuinely documented small-fill range
The operating instructions say to add at least half a US cup, specified there as 118 mL, and stay below MAX. That is a normal-use minimum in the operating sequence, not merely a low-water safety cutoff. It makes a 200 mL preparation compatible with the documented fill range, while a 100 mL request is below it. At the other end, the 0.8-liter maximum excludes a full 1-liter batch, regardless of how compact or convenient the kettle otherwise seems.
The US manual specifies 120 V, 60 Hz and 1200 W, and gives dimensions of 11.6by 9by 7.7 inches. Treat the long spout and lifted lid as part of the working space around the base. The body is opaque, so checking the level is not the same as looking through a glass kettle or an external water window. Keep the fitted lid secure and its steam vents clear during operation.
App convenience does not replace preparation
VeSync can customize MyBrew, schedule heating and change sound settings. Those features can be useful if the kettle is already correctly filled and positioned, but they do not remove the need to follow the appliance's normal operating instructions. The maker also advertises a formula-related mode; this review concerns ordinary household water heating and does not treat that setting as infant-feeding or sterilization guidance.
The manufacturer describes 304 stainless steel construction. That should not be expanded into an unsupported claim about every seal or water-contact component. There is no included tea infuser in the documented package, so brew leaves separately. Let the kettle cool and unplug it before wiping the body and keeping the underside socket dry. COSORI recommends at least weekly descaling with frequent use and provides a non-abrasive cleaning procedure.
The most useful reason to choose it
Choose the CS108-NK for smaller controlled pours, a documented 118 mL minimum and the option to tailor its schedule or warming through VeSync. Choose a larger general-spout kettle when serving volume is the main problem. If your priority is a precise numerical target without a phone, compare a kettle with verified on-device adjustment steps and a live display. The COSORI's strongest fit is the combination of small-batch pouring and optional connected routines, with its actual settings checked rather than assumed.
